LAUREL, Miss. (AP) - The Mississippi couple made famous for renovating houses in their hometown is back on television soon.
The Clarion-Ledger reports that “Home Town” will premiere on Monday at 8 p.m. on HGTV.
In the show, Ben and Erin Napier restore old houses in Laurel, a town of about 18,000 people in southern Mississippi.
This is the second season of the show which will last 10 episodes.
This season is a little different in that Erin is pregnant with the couple’s first child.
“Ben and I don’t think of our work as simply home renovation,” said Erin in a press release. “We find the common thread in the things that the homeowners love - the story of their life and family - and how that relates to the house. It’s satisfying when that comes together.”
“I’m excited to see our baby grow up in Laurel, where everybody takes care of each other,” Ben said. “It’s a special place.”
Erin is a graphic artist and Ben is a woodworker whose work is often featured on the show. They came to the attention of an HGTV executive who followed Erin on Instagram. They also own a downtown general store that focuses on American-made goods.
Season Two promises to feature more of what drew many to the show, including Ben’s woodworking projects. He’ll use reclaimed materials to build one-of-a-kind pieces for the homeowners, including a bench made from front porch flooring and a dining room table constructed from repurposed sun-room beams.
