SANTA ANA, Calif. (AP) - Southern California authorities are looking for a driver who they say fled after hitting a man who had been ejected from his car in a fatal highway crash.

The Orange County Register reports that a silver Audi was speeding on Interstate 405 in Santa Ana on Friday when it made a lane change, hit another car and then crashed into the center divider.

The California Highway Patrol says the Audi came to rest in the carpool lane and was then hit by another car, ejecting the 42-year-old male driver onto the freeway.

CHP says a white sedan then hit the man and fled the scene.

The man, as well as a 46-year-old female passenger in the Audi, both died of their injuries. Their names have not been released.
