Author Michael Wolff said Friday that he is confident about his reporting in his controversial new book about President Trump.

“I am certainly, absolutely in every way comfortable with everything reported in this book,” Mr. Wolff said on NBC News’ “Today” Show.

The book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” has generated much talk among journalists and those inside the White House with many questioning not only the facts, but whether Mr. Wolff included off-the-record conversations in his piece.

The excerpts released have focused primarily on conversations Mr. Wolff had with former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon about other members of the administration, which depict a chaotic administration led by people who do not know what they’re doing, including the president.

Mr. Wolff acknowledged doing “whatever necessary” to gain access to the White House and write the story, but he said the content of the book is true.

“This man does not read, does not listen. He’s like a pinball, just shooting off the sides,” he said referring to Mr. Trump

When asked about the legal cease-and-desist letter Mr. Trump’s lawyers reportedly sent in response to the book, the author he shrugged it off.

“Where do I send the box of chocolates?” he quipped.

Mr. Trump denied granting Mr. Wolff any access to write the piece.

“I authorized Zero access to White House (actually turned him down many times) for author of phony book! I never spoke to him for book. Full of lies, misrepresentations and sources that don’t exist. Look at this guy’s past and watch what happens to him and Sloppy Steve!” Mr. Trump tweeted late Thursday.

Other members of the administration have also denied cooperating with Mr. Wolff.

“I work like every journalist works. I have recordings. I have notes. I am certainly and absolutely in every way comfortable with what I have reported,” Mr. Wolff said.
