Anthony Scaramucci said Thursday that former White House strategist Steve Bannon doesn’t care about President Trump.

“He’s for Steve. We’re for the president,” Mr. Scaramucci, who served briefly as the former White House communications director, told CNN.

Mr. Scaramucci was reacting to Mr. Bannon’s comments in a new book “Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House” by Michael Wolff that depicts a chaotic White House with unruly and disorganized staff.

Mr. Wolff said he was given access to write the book, but Mr. Scaramucci pushed back saying he only had one interview with the author throughout his entire time on the transition and in the administration.

Mr. Scaramucci said that, unlike Mr. Bannon, he’s still supportive of the president.

“I’m still on his team. I support his agenda,” Mr. Scaramucci said.

Mr. Bannon said late Wednesday that he does support Mr. Trump and his agenda.

“The president is a great man,” said Mr. Bannon in response to a caller’s question about the book on “Breitbart News Tonight” on Sirius XM. “You know, I support him day in and day out.”
