NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Travin Thibodeaux scored 21 points to lead four in double-figure scoring as New Orleans beat Northwestern State 82-64 on Wednesday night.
New Orleans (12-10, 9-2 Southland Conference) has won four straight and five of its last six games. Northwestern State (3-18, 0-10) has lost 13 in a row.
Thibodeaux shot 8 of 15 from the floor. Troy Green added 12 points for the Privateers. Makur Puou had 11 points and Ezekiel Charles 10.
Ishmael Lane scored 20 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead Northwestern State. C.J. Jones chipped in 10 points and Larry Owens had a game-high 13 rebounds.
New Orleans had a double-digit lead midway through the first half and built a 36-24 halftime advantage. Thibodeaux and Charles scored four points apiece as the Privateers opened the second half on a 9-1 surge for a 45-28 lead. The Demons pulled within 12 points, but didn’t get closer.
