TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - Tahjai Teague had 21 points and 11 rebounds, and Ball State beat Toledo 75-63 on Tuesday night to snap the Rockets’ seven-game win streak.
Toledo (15-7, 7-2 Mid-American Conference) missed out on a chance to pull into a first-place tie with conference leader Buffalo (16-6, 8-1), which lost to Kent State 82-79. Ball State (14-8, 5-4) has won back-to-back games.
Teague was 10-of-19 shooting and capped the scoring with a dunk. Tayler Persons added 16 points and eight assists and Trey Moses chipped in 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Tre’Shaun Fletcher had 16 points, 10 rebounds and six assists to lead Toledo. Jaelan Sanford had 14 points and Luke Knapke chipped in 11.
Ball State opened the game with a 30-13 run and had a double-digit lead for most of the second half. Nate Navigato’s 3-pointer pulled the Rockets to 53-47 with 9:35 to play, but they didn’t get closer.
