FONTANA, Calif. (AP) - Authorities say a man they suspect robbed two Southern California cellphone stores this month may be responsible for more than 40 robberies throughout San Bernardino, Orange and Los Angeles counties in the past eight months.

The Press-Enterprise reports the Fontana Police Department released several images Monday afternoon from surveillance footage showing the suspect, including a few close-up shots of his clothing.

Police believe the man robbed two Fontana Metro PCS store locations Saturday and Monday. Authorities say he was armed with a handgun during one of the robberies.

The suspect is described as a white or Hispanic male, about 30 to 40 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-9, 160 to 200 pounds, and he may have a mustache and neck tattoos.
