RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) - The leader of North Carolina’s House chamber expects to get a seat inside the U.S. House chamber for President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.
House Speaker Tim Moore said he would be listening to Trump’s speech in person in Washington on Tuesday night. Moore is the guest of U.S. Rep. Patrick McHenry, a fellow North Carolina Republican. Moore was on Capitol Hill earlier Tuesday visiting members of North Carolina’s congressional delegation.
McHenry is in his seventh term in the U.S. House, where is he the chief deputy whip. McHenry and Moore served together briefly in the state House. Moore lives in McHenry’s 10th Congressional District.
