Former Washington Redskins offensive lineman Joe Jacoby has another shot at the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Jacoby was named as a finalist Tuesday for the third consecutive year. He was one of two of the 15 nominated players to have played in the NFL before 1993.
Jacoby spent all 13 years of his career in Washington, winning three Super Bowls and is a two-time first-team All Pro. He was a key part of “The Hogs” — the Redskins’ dominant offensive line in the ’80s.
On the Redskins’ three Super Bowl-winning teams, Jacoby started at left tackle. He joined the Redskins as an undrafted free agent from the University of Louisville in 1981.
The Redskins have 19 players in the Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame voters will make their final selections Feb. 3 in Minneapolis. Only a maximum of five people are allowed to be inducted each year, with each needing at least 80 percent of the vote.
