LAS VEGAS (AP) - Las Vegas police are investigating a fatal drive-by shooting that left one man dead.
Lt. Dan McGrath tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal that police learned about the early Monday shooting after receiving a notification from ShotSpotter, an acoustic technology that Las Vegas police implemented last year that identifies gunshots and pinpoints their location.
Police found a man suffering multiple gunshot wounds in front of a northeast valley residence.
McGarth says the man was taken to a hospital where he died.
McGarth says no one in the neighborhood reported the shooting, but some neighbors said they saw a white truck fleeing the area after the gunshots were heard.
Police believe the shooting may be gang-related because they found fresh graffiti nearby.
