GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) - Authorities say three schools on the west side of Green Bay were locked down for more than an hour while police looked for a suspect in the area.

WLUK-TV reports that that situation began about 2:30 p.m. Monday when a female stopped her vehicle in front of an officer and flagged him down. She reported what police would only describe as “some very serious things.” At that point, the officer says he saw a male with a gun, who ran away.

More officers were called in along with a K-9 unit to help with the search. The lockdown of the Lincoln, Fort Howard and West schools was lifted just after 4 p.m.

Police say they are following up on more leads in the case.
