BURLINGTON, Vt. (AP) - A male student who was suspended from the University of Vermont after being accused of groping a female student at an off-campus party has dropped his lawsuit against the school.
The Burlington Free Press reports that UVM spokesman Enrique Corredera says the student’s decision to dismiss the complaint was of his own volition. Corredera says UVM did not alter the male student’s disciplinary sanction or pay any money in settlement of the lawsuit.
The male student had argued he didn’t grope the student and the school’s faulty disciplinary system is biased against men.
A female student had reported that a male student groped her as they danced at a rugby party on April 28, 2017.
Corredera said the UVM acted appropriately and was never served with the male student’s lawsuit.
