RENO, Nev. (AP) - The Nevada Air National Guard is alerting Reno residents that it will be testing its public warning system Saturday afternoon.
The Air Guard base located next to Reno-Tahoe International Airport intends to conduct the tests for about an hour beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday. The test will include sirens, tones and spoken words.
It’s part of a regularly scheduled practice to ensure the system is working properly. Guard officials say they decided to put out an advisory so no one in the area will be alarmed.
