OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - A Fremont man has been sentenced to five years’ probation for Social Security disability fraud.

Federal prosecutors for Nebraska say 54-year-old Brian Tillman was sentenced Thursday for his conviction of theft of government funds. Tillman was also ordered to pay more than $190,000 restitution to the Social Security Administration.

Prosecutors say that from March 2010 to December 2016, Tillman received $190,100 in disability payments for himself and his two minor children. During that time, prosecutors say, Tillman was hiding the fact that he was operating a business, Brian Home Improvements, in Fremont. That made him ineligible for Social Security disability payments.
