EVERETT, Wash. (AP) - The airport in Everett is expected to reach capacity with 24 passenger flights planned for each day after Southwest Airlines announced the addition of five daily departures.
The Dallas-based carrier announced on Thursday that it would operate flights at Paine Field after the airport’s new terminal opens in September.
Southwest is the third passenger airline to plan flights for the airport, which is owned and operated by Snohomish County.
Alaska Airlines announced earlier this month that it would run 13 daily flights, and United Airlines made plans for six departures.
Southwest officials say the airline will provide details on flight destinations in the spring.
Propeller Airports CEO Brett Smith says the airport will now be full. The developer of the terminal has previously anticipated up to 16 daily flights.
