Former 2012 Republican nominee Mitt Romney is expected to announce his plans to run for Senate in the next week, according to a UtahPolicy.com report.
Mr. Romney held a strategy session at his home in Holladay, Utah to discuss policy positions. A source told UtahPolicy.com, however, that political strategy was not discussed.
Mr. Romney will need to get the required 28,000 signatures from Republican voters by the April deadline in order to qualify for the June primary ballot, cites the report. Local officials are also trying to get the former Massachusetts governor to attend Utah’s state Republican convention in May.
