SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (AP) - The operators of two Springfield massage parlors are facing human trafficking charges.
State Attorney General Maura Healey’s office announced Wednesday that 65-year-old Stephen Forsely, of Bernardston, and 61-year-old Liu Yang, of Springfield, have been charged with trafficking persons for sexual servitude, money laundering, deriving support from prostitution, keeping house of ill fame and other offenses.
The two ran Day Spa and the Health and Relaxation Spa. They pleaded not guilty at their arraignment Wednesday in Springfield District Court.
Bail was set at $20,000 for each defendant. Forsely and Yang were also ordered to surrender their passports and to wear GPS monitoring devices. It couldn’t be immediately determined who their lawyers are.
Healey’s office said the arrests come after a monthslong investigation involving federal, state and local law enforcement agencies.
