GILLETTE, Wyo. (AP) - A Wyoming man has entered no contest and guilty pleas after he was charged with killing and dismembering two of his childhood friends.
The Gillette News Record reports 37-year-old Michael Montano on Monday pleaded no contest to two counts of second-degree murder and pleaded guilty to two counts of mutilation of dead bodies.
Montano was arrested in October 2016 after authorities say the bodies of 33-year-old Phillip Brewer and 38-year-old Jody Fortuna were found in the back of Montano’s truck and in a storage locker.
Authorities say the victims who were childhood friends of Montano in Rock Springs died from gunshot wounds.
Authorities say it took Montano two days to cut up the bodies.
Montano’s sentencing is scheduled for late April.
