White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said Tuesday reports that White House Chief of Staff John Kelly may be fired are unfounded.
“I would not use Vanity Fair for much other than a coaster. I don’t think it is a reliable source of information and certainly not on this topic,” Mrs. Sanders said on Fox News.
The Vanity Fair article reported that the relationship between Mr. Kelly and President Trump may have reached “the point of no return” after the immigration debate. The feud reportedly surrounded the immigration debate when Mr. Kelly said the president had “evolved” from his position on wall for the southern border.
“Look, as Chief of Staff Kelly has said himself, as the president has stated, they both plan on being here for the long haul and doing it together,” Mrs. Sanders said.
“I expect Gen. Kelly not to just be here for the next three years, but the next seven years,” she added.
