ASTANA, Kazakhstan (AP) - Alexander Borodyuk has left his post as coach of Kazakhstan’s national soccer team after failing to win a game in World Cup qualifying.

Kazakhstan finished last in its group under Borodyuk, who oversaw six losses and one draw during his 11 months in charge. In that time, Kazakhstan scored only three goals and conceded 15.

The Kazakhstan soccer federation says the Russian coach’s departure was “by mutual consent,” adding that it “thanks (Borodyuk) for the work he has done and wishes him success in the future.”

The federation says a new coach will be named “in the near future.”
