JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Cody Helgeland scored 20 points and Jalyn Hinton scored 16 with 10 rebounds and Jacksonville dismantled NCCAA member Trinity Baptist 105-48 on Tuesday night.
Devin Harris scored 16, JD Notae, 13, Lee Richmond, 11 and Jace Hogan 10, and the six players combined to shoot 72 percent (34 of 47) for Jacksonville (6-11). The Dophins made 61 percent of their shots, including 11 of 21 (52) from beyond the 3-point arc.
Jacksonville, which never trailed, built first-half leads of 22-5, 42-17 and the halftime score of 53-22. Hinton sandwiched a pair of layups between one by Helgeland and the Dolphins led 70-29 with 14:26 to play.
It was the second time this season Jacksonville topped 100 points. Four of Jacksonville’s wins this season have been against non-Division I opponents.
Chandler Rivers led the Eagles with 12 points and Trinity Baptist struggled to protect the ball and turned it over 26 times.
