BALTIMORE (AP) - Nearly 70 Baltimore households have been without water for almost two weeks, as crews continue to tackle the backlog of water outages caused by recent cold temperatures.

The Baltimore Sun reports that the city’s Department of Public Works reported Wednesday that 69 households had been without water for more than 10 days. Department spokesman Jeffrey Raymond says all the “easy” repairs have been completed.

As of Thursday morning, 55 water mains still needed repairs, while 321 individual customers awaited repairs.

The deep freeze that began last month was accompanied by the spate of water problems, as meters and pipes froze then burst.

At the outage’s peak last week, around 1,800 customers in Baltimore were without water. The department supplies water to roughly 400,000 customers in Baltimore City and Baltimore County.
