MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - Police have released the identity of a woman whose body was found outdoors in frigid temperatures in Tennessee.
Memphis police said on Twitter that the body of 44-yr-old Sheley Thompson was found Wednesday morning on a bench near City Hall in downtown Memphis. She was reported missing Tuesday after she walked away from a care home.
No signs of foul play were found. Police said the death is possibly weather related, but a medical examiner will determine the official cause of death.
Temperatures fell into the single digits early Wednesday in Memphis.
Media outlets report that Memphis Mayor Jim Strickland said Thompson got into an argument with other people staying at the home and left.
