DENVER (AP) - Denver is still in the running to become the home of Amazon’s proposed second headquarters.
Denver is among 20 cities on a shortlist of contenders announced by Amazon on Thursday.Many of them are concentrated in the East and Midwest.
Gov. John Hickenlooper says Colorado is one of the most business friendly states in the nation and that the Denver region would be a great choice for the online retailing giant.
Denver’s pitch emphasized Colorado’s workforce and lifestyle over economic incentives.
Amazon is promising $5 billion in investment and as many as 50,000 jobs over the next 15 years. It’s expected to pick a location this year.
