Eric Trump defended his father against accusations of racism Wednesday, saying the only color the president recognizes is that of cold hard cash.

“My father sees one color: green. That’s all he cares about. He cares about the economy,” the younger Mr. Trump said during an interview on “Fox & Friends.”

“He does not see race. He’s the least racist person I have ever met in my entire life. It’s total nonsense,” he added.

Mr. Trump, 34, said Democrats obsess over his father’s every move because they have failed to formulate an effective message to reach voters.

“It’s very sad. It’s a race to the bottom. They stoop very, very low. And the reason they do this is they don’t have their own message,” he said. “I mean, what is the message on the Democratic side right now? Who are the front-runners? What do they stand for? They don’t stand for anything. They’ve been obstructionists, they waste a tremendous amount of money, they come out, no matter what he did — if he would solve cancer tomorrow they would criticize him for it. It’s very, very sad.”

President Trump has faced renewed allegations of racism after he allegedly referred to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “sh—hole countries” during an Oval Office meeting on immigration last week.

Mr. Trump has denied using the vulgar language and told reporters Sunday that he is the “least racist person you will ever interview.”
