NEWARK, Del. (AP) - Police say a Maryland woman is accused of stabbing a Delaware man after a verbal fight became physical.

The News Journal of Wilmington reports the 23-year-old woman stabbed the 38-year-old man on Saturday.

Master Cpl. Michael Austin with the Delaware State Police says the pair were in Newark at the Tailgates Bar parking lot when the verbal altercation became a physical assault.

Authorities say the man was taken to a hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

An investigation is active and ongoing.
