ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - MaCio Teague scored 27 points, hitting five of UNC Asheville’s 13 3-pointers , and the Bulldogs defeated Charleston Southern 83-73 on Monday night.

Ahmad Thomas added 19 points and Raekwon Miller 15 for the Bulldogs (11-8, 4-2 Big South), who have won three straight. UNC Asheville shot 62 percent for the game (29 of 47), going 13 of 21 behind the arc.

Teague opened the game with back-to-back 3-pointers and fed Thomas for a layup before Thomas hit a 3 for an 11-0 lead. The lead stayed around 10 until Christian Keeling had a 4-point play to spark a 7-2 run that pulled the Buccaneers within 47-42 at the half.

Charleston Southern got with two several times before a 27-9 run made it a 20-point game with less than five minutes to go. Asheville made 8 of 9 shots, including all three of its 3-pointers and went 8 of 9 from the line. Six different players scored with five getting more than two.

Keeling had 22 points for Charleston Southern (6-11, 1-5), which has lost five straight.
