RUTLAND, Vt. (AP) - The search to replace Rutland’s town administrator has narrowed to three finalists.

The Rutland Town Select Board interviewed the three finalists Tuesday night behind closed doors, but adjourned without making a decision. The Rutland Herald reports the board will have a follow-up meeting next Tuesday for further discussions.

Select Board Chairman Josh Terenzini says the new job will have a starting salary of $50,000, in addition to full medical, vacation and retirement benefits the town offers its employees.

The former town administrator, Joseph Zingale, was fired in September. The town select board accused him of insubordination and gross misconduct in their unanimous decision.

Zingale has rejected the accusations and has filed a lawsuit against the town.
