OPINION:
Democrats in recent hours went on a mass tantrum, taking to the media to outdo themselves with the best shock and awe impression they can muster over President Donald Trump’s “sh—hole” comment — the same comment Trump now denies, via Twitter, saying.
Thing is: Democrats really don’t care what Trump said.
They only care about how they can use what they said to attack him politically.
You think those on the left shed tears at night for the good people of Haiti? Or, for the sad plight of those suffering in El Salvador? How about the poor in Africa — you think Democrats lose sleep while pining injustices and offenses facing those in these poverty-stricken, tribal-warring areas of the world?
The left is angry and outraged right now about Trump because they hate the president, and what The Washington Post reported Trump as saying gave a quick and easy manner to call him out as an unfit leader.
Rupert Colville, spokesman for the U.N. Human Rights office in Geneva, said: “You cannot dismiss entire countries as sh—holes … I’m sorry, but there’s no other word one can use but racist,” CNN reported.
George Stephanopoulos, former Bill Clinton White House right-hand man, said from his ABC News perch: “We’re not reporting the word right now, I think that’s probably a mistake. I don’t think it’s right to censor the president or to sugarcoat the racist sentiment revealed by how he used that word in the meeting.”
Rev. Al Sharpton said on “All In” on MSNBC: “Let’s be real clear. This is the most racist, bigoted pattern of comments that we’ve heard a president make. … He has built a whole presidency on race.”
That’s just a sampling of the leftist outrage.
But Tucker Carlson of Fox News had it right when he asked: What’s wrong with saying that?
“The idea that you are not allowed to say that they’re pretty crummy countries — Haiti, for example, or El Salvador, I’ve been in both of them — that’s why people are leaving them to come here,” he said, on his Thursday night Fox News broadcast. “So I don’t understand what the sin is.”
That’s because there is no sin.
There’s Democratic hatred, though, and there’s leftist-fueled deep desire to see this president impeached. And that, and that alone, is why all this angst over Trump’s rhetoric. It’s simply food for Democrats to distract from real agendas, in order to chip away at this president’s platform, policies and standing with the American people a bit more.
