ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) - New Jersey officials say a Philadelphia man has been arrested for selling fake season tickets for the Philadelphia Eagles football team, then attempting to use the money to gamble at an Atlantic City casino.
Police say the 56-year-old man, who is a licensed attorney in New Jersey, placed an online advertisement for a Philadelphia Eagles Stadium Builder License and claimed he was selling it on behalf of a couple. The Press of Atlantic City reports the suspect sold the license in late January for $9,400.
New Jersey State Police say the man then attempted to gamble the money on Jan. 29, and was arrested later that day. Authorities say he is charged with theft by deception.
A SBL gives its owner the right to purchase Eagles season tickets every year.
