Sen. Tammy Baldwin said Wednesday that she believes the Senate will have a long-term budget plan.
“I am very hopeful that we will have a two-year budget deal in short order,” the Wisconsin Democrat said on MSNBC.
She said the bill they’re working on addresses a range of issues from funding community health centers and veterans’ health care to the opioid crisis and addressing problems in pension programs.
]The current short-term continuing resolution runs out Thursday, leaving Congress with another possibility of a government shutdown.
But Ms. Baldwin said a bipartisan group has come together to solve the issues they agree need more than a short-term spending solution.
