CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Authorities say a 10-year-old boy kept his sisters, ages 1 and 3, warm for nearly four hours in near-freezing temperatures after a single-vehicle crash killed a woman and badly injured a man.
The Casper Star-Tribune reports Kymbrlee Smith was already dead when highway patrol troopers arrived Thursday at the incident near Lyman. Wyoming Highway Patrol say driver Samuel Smith was flown to the University of Utah Medical Center, where he remained in critical but stable condition Monday.
The Three children in the vehicle were admitted to a nearby hospital and later released to family members.
Around 6 a.m., roughly four hours after the crash, a person driving by spotted the vehicle and called 911.
The highway patrol Monday was investigating fatigue as the leading cause of the crash.
