SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - The Latest on a gas leak in San Francisco (all times local):

Utility workers stopped a gas leak after crimping a damaged, four-inch pipe and evacuated residents were allowed to return to their San Francisco homes.
More than a dozen residents near the city’s iconic row of Victorian houses were evacuated for their homes and many others barred entry after the leak was reported shortly before 4:30 p.m. Less than an hour later, Pacific Gas & Electric worker reported they stopped the leak.
Some resident may experience gas outages while the pipe is repaired.
One person reported breathing in the gas and was treated at the scene.

More than a dozen people were evacuated from homes near a popular San Francisco park after a contractor ruptured a gas line.
A San Francisco fire department official said Tuesday that authorities knocked on doors and escorted 16 people from a dozen multi-residential buildings in the area. Many of the units were empty with people at work who won’t be allowed in their homes until the leak is stopped. Pacific Gas and Electric says it expects to close the four-inch pipe by 5:15 p.m.
Leaking gas can cause nausea and lightheadedness.
The department is asking people to avoid the area near Alamo Square Park. The leak was reported at 3:22 p.m.
The park is famous for a historical row of Victorian houses that have appeared on postcards and on TV.
