COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - A man has been sentenced to life in prison without parole for the April 2016 killing of Julie Tureson.

The Colorado Springs Gazette reports that James Takchuan Woo was sentenced on Tuesday - the same day he was found guilty of first-degree murder.

He was sentenced moments after making out-of-turn comments to Tureson’s father. A jury convicted him after just 18 minutes of deliberation.

District Attorney Dan May called the jury’s decision “the fastest homicide verdict” he’s ever had.

Tureson was found dead in April 2016 handcuffed to the inside of her vehicle’s passenger door inside a storage unit that Woo had rented almost two weeks earlier.

Woo was arrested while trying to board a flight to Hong Kong the day Tureson’s body was found.
