LAS VEGAS (AP) - Records show family services officials were called to a hospital and a Las Vegas apartment to investigate neglect allegations four months before a man was charged with the murder of his 10-month-old daughter.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal reports Clark County Department of Family Services investigators interviewed Eric Chu’s family after Chu’s son, the infant twin of the deceased baby girl, fell from a bed during a diaper change and broke his arm.

County records say officials determined the allegations in the September incident were unsubstantiated.

Police say Chu was arrested Jan. 26 at a Chicago bus station. He is being held at the Cook County jail pending his transfer to Nevada. A lawyer would be appointed to represent him at his first appearance before a judge in Las Vegas.
