The Chicago Bears signed coveted free-agent quarterback Mike Glennon last season to a three-year, $45 million deal.
One year later, Glennon is out of the picture.
The Bears plan to release Glennon when the new season begins, the team announced.

The Bears traded up from No. 3 to No. 2 overall in the 2017 NFL Draft to select quarterback Mitch Trubisky out of North Carolina, just six weeks after signing Glennon. Before long, Trubisky took over as the team’s starter.
Glennon only started the first four games for Chicago and threw for 833 yards, four touchdowns and five interceptions, and the Bears went 1-3 in those games.
Glennon will join a crowded pool of free-agent quarterbacks that includes Kirk Cousins, Case Keenum, A.J. McCarron and most likely Teddy Bridgewater.
