DOUGLAS, Ariz. (AP) - The Latest on an automobile wreck and propane fire Douglas, Arizona (all times local):

12:40 p.m.

Douglas police say hundreds of people have been evacuated from businesses in a commercial and industrial area of the southeastern Arizona city after a vehicle hit a large propane tank’s feeder line that is now leaking gas.

Police Sgt. Jose Duarte says there was no fire or explosion, that the propane tank at a gas-distribution business wasn’t full when it was struck Tuesday and that firefighters are allowing some of the gas in the tank to dissipate before they try to clamp off the damaged pipe.

Duarte says the businesses evacuated in a half-mile radius include a Wal-Mart store along with warehouses and other commercial buildings.

He says dozens of firefighters responded to the crash and resulting propane gas leak while numerous law enforcement officers from several agencies sealed off the area and conducted the evacuation.

Duarte says two people in the vehicle have minor injuries.
