PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A police officer has been injured trying to chase down a man found naked with a woman in a parked van.

The Providence Journal reports Officer Sean Corley broke his ankle early Tuesday as he chased 22-year-old Sharkym Brown.

Brown had been with an unnamed woman in a van parked outside the Colony House apartment complex just after 2 a.m. when police encountered them. Police say Brown became agitated after being asked to get dressed and step outside of the vehicle.

Police say Brown shoved one of the officers and ran. He jumped a chain-link fence before he was eventually caught.

Brown pleaded no contest to simple assault and obstructing police in Sixth District Court in Providence. He was sentenced to one year of probation for the misdemeanor offenses.
