PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Authorities have identified a man who was struck and killed by a train in Philadelphia over the weekend.
Javier Lugo and another man were walking along the surface train tracks when Lugo was struck shortly after 7 p.m. Saturday by a SEPTA Regional Rail Line train. The other man was not injured.
The death has been ruled an accident. Authorities say the 24-year-old Lugo died from blunt-impact injuries,
Relatives say Lugo was born and raised in Newark, New Jersey but had recently moved to Philadelphia and was due to start a new job at a city deli on Sunday.
It’s not clear why the men were walking along the tracks.
