BRISTOL, Va. (AP) - A movie theater chain has announced a new security measure prohibiting patrons from bringing in big purses and bags.

The Bristol Herald Courier reports that the new rules by Cinemark Theatres impacts customers going to see a flick at Tinsletown USA off Interstate 81’s Exit 7.

Now, moviegoers at the Bristol theater won’t be able to bring in bulky bags. The newspaper describes the maximum bag size as roughly the size of a basketball.

More bulky medical equipment bags and diaper bags will still be allowed.

Texas-headquartered Cinemark operates more than 300 movie theaters.
