OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Paul Miller scored 22 points on 11-of-17 shooting, Cameron Hunter added 17 points with five 3-pointers, and North Dakota State hit 13 3s and never trailed in beating Omaha 84-62 in Saturday’s Summit League regular-season finale for both teams.
Tyson Ward scored 16 points with eight rebounds and seven assists, Jared Samuelson scored 12 on fours 3s, and A.J. Jacobson added 12 points for the Bison (14-16, 5-9), who won for the first time in Omaha since Jan. 8, 2015 to sweep the season series against the Mavericks.
With their fourth straight loss, the Mavericks (9-21, 4-10) become the No. 7 seed in next week’s Summit League Tournament and face No. 2 seed South Dakota.
Down by as many as 19 in the first half, Omaha closed to 49-42 on Daniel Norl’s 3-pointer, but Samuelson hit back-to-back 3s and the Bison led by 20 on Ward’s 3 with 4:35 left..
The Bison hit seven 3s and shot 62 percent from the field for a 46-33 halftime lead.
KJ Robinson scored 20 points for Omaha.
