Hollywood actor Ryan Reynolds has gone from portraying pilot Hal Jordan in “Green Lantern” to investing in Davos Brands’ Aviation Gin.

The star of the upcoming “Deadpool” sequel has added gin connoisseur to his resume. Mr. Reynolds touted his ownership interest in the spirits company to nearly 10 million Twitter followers on Wednesday.

“In the long and in no way disastrous marriage of showbiz and alcohol, so happy to announce I’m the proud owner of a gin company,” he joked.

“We couldn’t be happier that Ryan discovered Aviation. He wholeheartedly embodies the authentic, original spirit of Aviation Gin,” added Andrew T. Chrisomalis, CEO of Davos Brands in a press release. “Ryan has worked tirelessly to create some of the world’s most iconic media properties and will bring that drive and creativity to sharing Aviation with the world.”

The actor’s decision comes less than one year since fellow celebrity George Clooney, along with his business partners, sold their tequila brand Casamigos for $1 billion dollars.

“If you asked us four years ago if we had a billion dollar company, I don’t think we would have said yes,” Mr. Clooney said in a June 2017 statement to Fox News. “This reflects [Diageo PLC’s] belief in our company and our belief in Diageo. But we’re not going anywhere. [We’ll be] very much a part of Casamigos [and celebrate with] a shot tonight. Maybe two.”

“I don’t know whose idea it was to allow me into the gin business, but I can assure you, there are smarter, more reasonable people in charge,” Mr. Reynolds deadpanned in an email to Bloomberg.
