Adam Jones was candid when talking to reporters at Baltimore Orioles spring training Sunday in Sarasota, Florida.
Jones, entering the final year of his contract in Baltimore, said winning a World Series was the most important career goal to him and implied the Orioles were not in a position to compete for that yet.

“This is my career, this is not the fans’ career,” Jones added. “This is my career, so I’m going to make the best decision for myself and going forward I want to win.”

Because Jones is in his last contract year, the Orioles could deal him at the trade deadline if they are not in the playoff race and Jones is not content to stay.
