PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - A Rhode Island man has been sentenced to prison for his role in a home invasion while dressed as a police officer.

The Providence Journal reports 23-year-old Jeffry Rosario, of Pawtucket, was sentenced to 30 years in prison Wednesday with 14 years to serve. He previously pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery, burglary and conspiracy.

Prosecutors say Rosario knocked on the door of a Providence home in 2016 and identified himself as a police officer. He pushed open the door and restrained an 18-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman with the help of another suspect.

Prosecutors say two men rummaged through the house while Rosario and a fourth man stood watch. The four men allegedly took items of value and a family dog.

The dog was later found unharmed.
