BOSTON (AP) - Officials say the doors on a train on Boston’s subway line jammed, temporarily trapping riders inside.
The Boston Globe reports the malfunction happened on a Red Line train Thursday morning, leaving passengers inside for a span of four stations between Kendall and Porter squares.
One passenger who says she was on the train at the time posted on Twitter saying the train’s emergency phone line wasn’t working, and it took the efforts of two people to pull the emergency brake.
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority spokesman Joe Pesaturo says the train was removed from service. He says the train is heading to a maintenance facility to have its doors and emergency intercom inspected.
Pesaturo says the actions of the train’s motor person and other Red Line officials are also under investigation.
