STROUDSBURG, Pa. (AP) - A man facing eviction from his home in Pennsylvania’s Poconos was found dead after a police standoff that lasted more than 15 hours.

WNEP-TV reports police say it appears 63-year-old Michael Rogers shot himself and took his own life in the Stroudsburg home where police tried to evict him beginning the day after Christmas.

Constables left the scene after finding threatening messages and tried to resolve the situation. But Rogers refused to leave.

Police tried to arrest Rogers on Wednesday when they saw him outside the home. However, he went back inside and the standoff lasted until police entered the home and found Rogers dead early Thursday morning.
