PGA Tour golfer Bill Haas was injured in a car crash in Los Angeles that killed one driver Tuesday evening, The Associated Press reported.

The driver of the Ferrari in which Haas was riding was killed when the car collided with a BMW and rolled over. The Ferrari then clipped another vehicle, driven by actor Luke Wilson.

Haas, in town to play the Genesis Open at Riviera Country Club that begins Thursday, had been staying with a host family in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, and the driver was a member of the family.

Haas, 35, was hospitalized but “escaped serious injuries” and has since been released, said his manager, Allen Hobbs.

“He is understandably shaken up and — more importantly — his deepest condolences go out to the host family during this tragic and difficult time,” Hobbs said in a statement.

Haas has won six times on the PGA Tour and is the son of pro golfer Jay Haas. Wilson, who was not injured in the accident, is the brother of Owen Wilson.

Haas will withdraw from the Genesis Open and return home to South Carolina to recuperate, Hobbs told the Associated Press.
