SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - As Salt Lake City positions itself to bid for the 2030 Winter Olympics, an arch that was the colorful backdrop for medal ceremonies at the 2002 Olympics in Utah remains in pieces in a warehouse.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that city leaders have yet to make good on promises to find a suitable home for the Hoberman Arch. The 72-foot wide arch was disassembled and moved in 2014 from its home outside Rice-Eccles Stadium at the University of Utah campus to an impound lot. Nearly 30 pieces were stolen before it was moved to a warehouse.

Salt Lake City spokesman Matthew Rojas said officials are searching for a proper location for but said there’s no clear time frame.

Unlike other Olympic cities, Salt Lake City never created an Olympic legacy park.
