DENVER (AP) - Joe Rosga hit five 3-pointers and finished with 26 points and Daniel Amigo scored 19 points on 8-of-12 shooting to help Denver beat North Dakota State 66-63 on Saturday.
Rosga was shot 7 of 12 from the field and Amigo tied his career high with three 3-pointers.
Ade Murkey made a layup to give Denver (11-14, 5-6 Summit League) a 64-57 lead with 3:16 to play, but the Pioneers missed both of their field-goal attempts, and committed four turnovers, from there. Paul Miller made 5-of-6 free throws in a 27 second span to pull NDSU (12-14, 4-7) within three with 61 seconds left, but neither team scored before the Bison missed two potential tying 3s in the final seconds.
Tyson Ward led North Dakota State with a career-high 28 points.
Rosga made a jumper and then a 3-pointer to cap a 9-2 spurt that gave Denver a 55-42 lead with nearly seven minutes to play. Rocky Kreuser answered with a 3-pointer, Paul Miller and Tyson Ward each converted a 3-point play and Deng Geu made 4-of-4 free throws to trim NDSU’s deficit to 60-55 with four minutes remaining.
