President Trump will likely tell Congress Friday that he approves of releasing a memo detailing government surveillance abuses, the White House said Thursday.
“The president is OK with it,” a senior administration official said. “I doubt there will be any redactions. It’s in Congress’ hands after that.”
The official told reporters that Mr. Trump will inform Congress “probably tomorrow” that he approves of releasing the memo.
The official said that it is a congressional process, and that the decision was made after reviewing the memo over the past few days and making sure “it doesn’t give away too much in terms of classification.”
